Obi Cubana Beats Tony Elumelu, Abdul Rabiu and others to becomed 2021 Man of the Year2021

Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, a billionaire businessman and philanthropist known as Obi Cubana, has been named the 2021 Man of the Year by Nigerians at home and abroad.

Obi Cubana was selected ahead of three other nominees in a 14-day Leadership Excellence Awards voting by Nigerians via online channels monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria.

To win the post, he defeated Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Tony Elumelu, Chairman of the UBA Group, and Abdul Rabiu, Chairman/Founder of the BUA Group.

Cubana received 2,667,845 votes, while the other nominees received the following votes: Makinde received 1,015,224 votes, Elumelu received 848,652 votes, and Rabiu received 819,562 votes.

Obi Cubana, a native of Oba, a town in Anambra State’s Idemili-South Local Government Area, is known for his charity and humanitarian work.

After footage of his mother’s funeral went viral, he was reportedly claimed to have empowered 300 youngsters in business with N1 million apiece.

The African Union and the African Film Institute have supported the prestigious award, which is organized by IgbereTV.

The award recognizes and honors leaders who have had a significant effect on Nigeria’s governmental and private sectors.

The award ceremony for the 2021 edition, which will be the third in a row, will take place on November 2 in Abuja.
